I can’t believe my luck. I’ve finally found a summer dress I’ll wear over and over again, with heels, sandals, or trainers. It’s like I’ve found the dress I’ve always been waiting for.
This all happened during an impromptu visit to Mango whilst on holiday in Bruges. (There is no Mango in Cornwall, someone sort it out please.) Taking advantage, I took loads into the changing room. Upon showing my partner the first item, I was delighted to see he had another 6 items in his hand for me. (I love that he does that, by the way.)
Now his track record when it comes to shopping with me isn’t great. Apparently, previous ladies have had more success from his choices, and I think it’s knocked his confidence a bit. I must admit, I wasn’t convinced when he handed me the clothes but definitely wanted to see what he thought I’d look good in.
He picked out The Textured Dress. It felt right the minute I put it on and was like a second skin. It skims in the right places but is clingy where I want it to be. The back is a bit different. It has a keyhole effect but thankfully allows for a bra. It’s so comfy to wear, I could wear it all the time. Lets face it, for €25 (£19.99 in the UK), it’s a complete bargain.
Dave was super pleased. Apparently he had been trying to get me into a skater dress for ages. I had long given up on them. The pleated skirts usually add inches and I just look frumpy. Maybe the weight loss has helped, maybe it was the right dress, maybe it was both, Who cares? I got a summer dress and it looks lush!
Equally impressive is the fact that he picked out a cardigan for me as well. I don’t do cardigans. I have long moved on to sweatshirts and big jumpers to chuck on when the evenings get a bit chilly. Anyway, I liked it so much with the dress, there’s a red-orange clash going on, that I got that too. Who knew?
